AboutDuring the early 1970s, I had the privilege of doing graduate work in religion at Fordham University with eco-theologian, Teilhard scholar, and early proponent of the Big History model, Thomas Berry. Since obtaining my M.A. and Ph.D. in History of Religions, I have taught a wide range of courses in areas such as world regions, philosophy of religion, religious experience, mysticism, ethics and related areas at Susquehanna University and Lycoming College, both in central Pennsylvania. While my areas of interest as reflected in three published various books, scholarly articles, and presentations have been wide ranging, my current focus is on the exploration of how the emergence of religion fits into the Big History model of cosmic evolution and the implications of this perspective for the further development of religion and spiritual consciousness in both the immediate and more distant future of the human species.
